What to have handy
None of this is essential - if you do not have it, the assessment is how we work it out. But having it to hand makes the first visit far more useful.
- A recent power bill, or better, a year of them. Annual kWh usage is the single most useful number for sizing a system.
- Roughly when the house uses power. Is anyone home during the day, or is it all breakfast and dinner?
- Whether an EV is in the picture - now or in the next few years. It changes the sizing more than almost anything else.
- Anything you already know about the roof - its age, whether it has been re-roofed, and if there is shading from trees or neighbours.
- What you actually want. A smaller bill, backup through outages, getting off gas, or full independence are different briefs and lead to different systems.
What happens next
We arrange a time that suits, come and look at the property, and go through the options with you. There is no charge and no obligation. If solar does not stack up for your house, we will say so.
